Choose a Google Search Console filter preset (Question queries, Long-tail word count, Commercial intent, Custom keyword list, or URL folders).
Customize your word count or enter your target phrases (special characters are escaped automatically for RE2).
Copy the generated regex and paste it into Google Search Console → Performance → + Add filter → Query or Page → Custom (regex).
Find hidden low-hanging keywords in Google Search Console with RE2 regex
Google Search Console's Custom (regex) filter is one of the fastest ways to uncover striking-distance keywords, FAQ questions, and long-tail search queries—but writing RE2-compatible regular expressions by hand often triggers "Invalid regular expression" errors. Use this free GSC regex generator to create tested, copy-and-paste RE2 patterns in one click.
Top 5 copy-and-paste Google Search Console regex filters

| Long-Tail Keywords (6+ Words) | Query → Matches regex | ^(\S+\s+){5,}\S+$ |

Why RE2 rejects (?!...) lookaheads—and how to work around it
Unlike JavaScript RegExp, Google's RE2 syntax forbids negative lookaheads ((?!brand)). Whenever you want to exclude brand terms or specific subfolders in GSC, generate a standard alternation group (?i)(term1|term2) using the Custom Keyword List mode above, then switch the Search Console dropdown from Matches regex to Doesn't match regex.
